Garrison Keillor in Town on Saturday Night

Photo from A Prairie Home Companion website.
Garrison Keillor with his show,  A Prairie Home Companion,  was at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, North Carolina for a live broadcast performance on Saturday night. His special guests included the old-time string band Big Medicine and Robin and Linda WilliamsSue Scott, Tim Russell, and Fred Newman,  and  The Guy's All-Star Shoe Band also performed.

We had forgotten Keillor was coming to town, and we failed to get tickets, but we listened on the radio.  At the DPAC a year or so ago, we saw Garrison Keillor in a one-man show, but we have never seen a live performance of A Prairie Home Companion, and that is on my bucket list, so I'm disappointed that we didn't get tickets.  He's been in Chapel Hill before, but we were out of town then.

Here you can listen to Garrison's Theme Song .

They paid homage to Doc Watson who passed away this last week.  Doc Watson was a North Carolina treasure.

Here's Doc singing Little Sadie.  How he will be missed. Thank you Garrison for your tribute to Doc.
