Deruta is in the Umbria region of central Italy. Long known as a center of refined maiolica manufacture, Deruta remains known for its ceramics, which are exported worldwide.
We stopped here for a visit at a pottery for a demonstration of their craft and to enjoy their splendid collection. Some of the group even purchased a few pieces.
